school of unlearning
The School Of UnLearning (or SOUL, for short) is your invitation into a deeper, more intimate experience with God. And yourself.
Unlearning? Yes, there is much we need to un-learn before we can begin to truly learn—and even then, the learning we engage is less centered in the head and more anchored in the heart. Come see for yourself!
A 2-year curriculum in spiritual formation and contemplative practice is being constructed as part of Jerome & Kellie’s doctoral studies 2022 - 2024. We’ll keep you posted as the school emerges.
In the meantime, we are offering periodic SOUL Retreats as a way of piloting our material on spiritual formation. Sign up for the next retreat or other event here!
We also offer themed workshops, book circles, and community gatherings with the goal of building a video library below…

Partnerships
The Vining Center has been an organizational partner with Christians for Biblical Equality for many years. No one is doing a better job of championing the full measure of God’s image in women and their full inclusion in Christian leadership than CBE.
Their website has an expansive array of academic articles, audio, book reviews, videos, and podcasts… not to mention our own book Not Your Parents’ Marriage in their online bookstore.
We love the generating principle as well as the practical work that Shane Claiborne is doing at Red Letter Christians. They are attempting to take the actual words of Jesus as the vision for how we live out the Christian life. Radical, I know.
As a result, this nonpartisan group is working very specifically against violence in all its forms: war, the death penalty, and all kinds of social injustice in alignment with the Sermon on the Mount and God’s heart for the poor and marginalized.
